12/13 advisory vote

Well I was going to start the post off ,  YOU PEOPLE WHO BITCH ABOUT TAXES AND DID NOT COME TO THE MEETING LAST NIGHT SUCK!!!!!

But I saved it for 1st paragraph.

What the heck, there was only MAYBE 3 of us there who did not have either financial interest or were not school board or school employee .

I think there was 3

HOWEVER the vote was 13 for 12 voted NO.

So I think we did really well.

NOW if the Willoughby’s had not voted, it would not have been 12/13.

The Willoughby’s are the one’s who want the school to buy their property.

The vote would have been at the very least, 12 against/11 for.

It was a public vote, anyone who came. But I have a problem with people who have a financial gain to be had voting.

NOW that being said.  IF the school budget was different,  if money was not such a issue.  IF the purchase was not going to put us in the hole.  It might be different.  But that is not what it is.

The offer by the Willougby’s was nice, but wrong for them to expect the school to much that money into that campus , when the district is not committed to staying there for the next 20-30 years.   They are talking 10 yrs,  that is a ton of money for such a short amount of time.

There was a guy who spoke very strongly for it, and after the meeting I was told he has the neighboring property to the property being offered to the school.. He is hoping that if the school buys the property Willoughby’s  are offering , that his property would be the next one they want.   He had his own agenda at this meeting.   Not the best interest of the school or the kids in it.

It is now up to the school board, as this was only a advisory vote.  Like I said without the Willoughby’s voting , it would have gone down as more opposed than for.   We need to stay on top of the school board about this.
