School to prison pipeline.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on April 29, 2014 by chasinthenews

I have included the links to a couple of  stories regarding ” school to prison pipe line.”   This issue caught my attention when a petition came onto my Facebook feed.

This happens way more often than most of us realize.   Sadly it happens more to blacks than to whites.    How ever the majority of Evansville High School students are white and so that is all Scott Everson and Brian Cashore have to work with.

Seriously.   I have not heard of any student going to prison from the hijinks and the almight duo of Everson and Cashore.  But the duo call the police a lot.   A lot of the issues at the Evansville High School are caused by Cashore, Everson,  and Katzenmeyer.    They do not seem to know and do not have proper training to deal with kids with mental issues.  They create more problems because of their ignorance and lack of training.

School administration went to the board recently wanting to implement a alternate school.  How ever if administration and Katezmeyer learned how to behave them selves and used some common sense one would wonder how much of a need would there really be for a alternate school?

Parents for years now have complained to the board about cashore and everson but they have done nothing.  How many parents have to complain?

They most certainly do damage.

The story of this young man in the articles is very sad.  He did not deserve what happened to him.  But either do quite a few of the kids at the Evansville High School.

They , Cashore, Everson, Roth, Katzenmeyer sit and pick their noses claiming they do not know why people are fleeing the district.  Why they literally lose millions to open enrollment.

It’s their administration and a few teachers at the Evansville High school that is the main problem.

Oregon’s Senior Project. Evansville Should Take A Page.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on April 17, 2014 by chasinthenews

So simple.    Easily explained.

My question would be to the Evansville Administration who came up with this hair brain idea.  Do they walk the walk?    That same walk you are asking these kids to do?

I can tell you for a fact a couple of them do not.

Volunteering is a great service anyone can do.  Everyone should do.  Even if its only a couple hours a month.

Many students already do,  have since they were very young.

Church,  Girl Scouts , Boy Scouts.. .  Humane Societies or rescues.

The library,  The Care Closet..  All places I have watched kids volunteering at.

Volunteering is great.    If it  is great for college applications and resumes.  It is great for one’s being.  It’s a gift anyone can give.

It is just some thing so easy to do and no one is that ” busy.”   that they can not find a few hours.

But the way the E.C. S.D. has set up this Senior Project,  is reads and looks like people who themselves had no real idea how to carry out it . I do not blame the teachers who declined one bit to take part in this. There are to many questions administration can’t or won’t answer.

AT the Freshman meeting at Madison West at the start of the year they preached getting your kids into volunteering if they were not already doing so.

My son and his basketball and football teammates have participated in several volunteer programs since the start of the year.

My daughter and I both volunteer at a local animal rescue two Saturday’s a month and she volunteers one afternoon a week at a local nursing home.

It has actually helped her to decide what she wants to do after high school ..

Show and encourage kids the many ways to help , volunteer.   Most kids are just looking and needing that guidance  and will continue to do it long after school is out.

It does not take a ” Senior Project. ”  to give back to the community.. Many students already do.

Now back to our administrators who came up with this handy dandy idea?    They volunteer where?

” WE get these kids ready for college.” Nothing Less Than 3.0– Proud Mom Moment

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on November 20, 2013 by chasinthenews

Please excuse me as I continue to have my very proud MOM moment!!!!  My son who is a freshman at Madison West has made the Madison West basketball team!!!   This is a big accomplishment and one to be proud of.   There were  around 60 kids who tried out, and in the end he made the team!    But he has always worked to get better in this sport, and has improved every year he has played.

We had our first parents basketball meeting last night.   I am  SO super impressed with the way the athletic program is run at West.   During last night’s meeting there was more talk about expectations for its players than really any talk about basketball.    They expect ALL their players to keep up a 3.0 average, which they monitor.   IF a player does not have a 3.0 they are required to attend tutoring sessions .   They expect nothing but exemplary behavior from their players on and off the court.

Several times I heard ” We get these kids ready for college.”    There was such a focus on academics it was so nice to hear.   They pointed out that Madison West is in one of the toughest divisions in the state , and it takes kids that are not only good with the basketball , but kids who are just as academically skilled.

These coaches realize these kids are going to need something for life after high school.

The athletes at Madison West are definitely held to a higher standard than what the athletic dept at Evansville requires.

Evansville could stand to take some lessons from them with their anemic requirement of only maintaining a 1.5 g.p.a. to play sports.   Pathetic.

More examples about bullying in the Evansville School district.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on May 1, 2013 by chasinthenews

This is a  problem we had at the Evansville High School and I have literally told dozens of people about it, including the school board.   I decided after last week’s events where it’s clear it’s the goal of the Evansville School district to try to cover up just how bad the bullying is .. it time to go online, national,  world-wide , about the bullying issues in the Evansville School District and how little to nothing they do about them.   .

When my daughter was a sophomore at Evansville High School almost right from the beginning of the school year she complained about a young man who in class and outside of class like at lunch time would pick at her.   Making comments about how she looked, how she dressed, how she talked, what kind of grades she got.. Any thing he could think of.     My complaints about this young man and this situation are very well documented through emails to the school and Scott Everson, a.k.a.  principal

.Scott Everson also suggested to us it was all in our daughters head,  that she was making more of it than what she should.

Scott Everson tried for months to tell me it was more my daughters fault because she would not ignore him.   So it was her fault she was being bullied according to the thinking of Scott Everson.

KEEP in mind this is all very well documented by us through emails ..    We complained many, many times.   We always got the same result.   Our daughter needed to ignore this obnoxious kid.

It all came to a huge blow up one day in class when this kid was making his nasty comments was confronted by another classmate of my daughters.   This classmate of my daughters told this obnoxious kid to  ” shut up and leave her alone.”     SO IT MUST NOT HAVE been just in my daughter’s head , and it had gotten so ridiculous that other class mates were/ had and were noticing.

The obnoxious kid who had picked on my daughter for months confronted the well-meaning classmate of my daughters.    It unfortunately came to the obnoxious kid getting in the well-meaning classmates face and yep you guessed it  blows/pushing shoving was exchanged.

The well-meaning classmate ended up suspended and the obnoxious kid what happened to him????     Good question.   For that particular incident I do not know.

I do know in her junior year they made sure they did not put him in the same classes as her.       But it took violence between two students for the morons who run the school to do some thing about the situation.   In the mean time my daughter had been bullied/teased/harassed for 3/4 of the year.

Kim Katezenmeyer was also very aware of the situation and did not to help resolve it.    This is a situation where if teacher’s were fined for not reporting or stopping bullying it could have made a difference.

AS I said before very well documented , with Kim Katzenmeyer copied on some of the emails.

It’s time to stop protecting these teacher’s and schools who allow the bullying to continue.

****** I am sure at this point the school wishes it had not done so much communicating with through email as it backs up the many issues we had/have with them.

The Evansville School District ,  the high school in particular fails to protect its students from bullying.  The Junior High comes in a very close second to being bad about dealing with it.

They allow girls to go through the halls calling each other whore , slut, or worse..  BUT GOD FORBID YOU SAY  CORN OR TRACTOR BECAUSE IT MIGHT OFFEND SOMEONE.

** LOOK up corn or tractor in the urban dictionary.

Please follow us on twitter @chasinthenews

and on facebook.

We will continue to discuss these issues on both.

Alena Nightoak takes her own life. A victim of bullying.– Another sad story out of Wisconsin schools.

This is just yet another sad story of the effects of bullying.   This was a kind, beautiful young lady.  Yet she was bullied endlessly by certain kids who really should be held criminally responsible.    She suffered from anxiety and depression.   Any one who is bullied suffers from anxiety and depression.   It comes with being bullied.     She actively spoke out against bullying and had made u-tube videos on being bullied.

I am just waiting for the Marshall High School to come out with a statement saying they ” had no idea.”   That seems to be standard for schools caught not doing enough about bullying.  The Evansville School District has a huge bullying problem, always has.   They have done very little to solve the issues.  The administrators in our school will tell anyone who will listen it’s not that bad,  example of the silly , understated report they gave at a recent board meeting.     But ask any number of parents in the E.S.D. and they can tell you just how bad the bullying is in the district.

If it comes to light the school knew and did little to nothing to prevent the bullying the administrators, and any teacher also need to be held criminally and have civil liability.   That is the only way schools are going to start taking it seriously and do some thing about it.

From elementary on up to high school.      Evansville School District administrators and certain staff should be ashamed of them selves.

There were two different kids that we are aware of that attempted suicide last year in the Evansville School District because of being bullied.  It’s funny how those numbers were not pointed out by the staff at the board meeting.

This is just such a very sad story.    It could have been prevented if kids were just taught it’s not o.k. to bully.  Some times the bulling starts with the parents. They are or were bullies.   Our thoughts and prays are with her family and friends.   So very sad.

Cum,Laude, Magna Cum Laude and what ever … email from Scott Everson

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on January 4, 2013 by chasinthenews
This is the email I received from Scott Everson yesterday.
My name is Scott Everson and I am the EHS Principal.  I am writing to you parents of 8th graders specifically because I would like your input and feedback on an idea that our leadership team is currently investigating and possibly implementing here at Evansville High School starting with next year’s Freshmen: the Laude System.  So what is a “Laude System”?
Basically, it’s a system designed to recognize and reward students for not just their grade point average (GPA), but a combination of rigorous course choices and their performance in all courses.  Over the span of their high school career, students would accumulate ‘honor points’ (number of “advanced classes” multiplied by their grade point average = honor points).
The number of honor points would eventually help those students achieve a level of Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or the highest level, Summa Cum Laude, at graduation time.  The Laude System motivates students to challenge themselves academically, gives control to the students through the honor point attainment, and reduces the ‘GPA competition game’ between our top individual students.
We have created a website that provides much more information and resources, samples of what other districts have implemented, facts about class ranks, Q and A’s, and more.  I invite you to look at the website and let me know what you think:
Please feel free to reply to this email with questions, comments, or concerns.  Likewise, the website allows for comments in various spots so please feel free to comment on there as well.
We are currently in an exploration/investigation stage seeking the input from you parents, teachers, and others.  This process would need to be approved by the ECSD School Board before implementation, if/when it gets to that point.  I thank you for your time reading this e-mail!
Scott Everson
EHS Principal
PLEASE CHECK out the website he has put a link for in the email.
Sadly I was very disappointed in the email.   Because it does nothing to help the kids who struggle day in and day out.   IT once again it aimed at those who already achieve .  Who are already taking advanced classes.   I read some comments about this yesterday from someone and I at first thought she was being kind of harsh and the more I thought about it, no she was not.   She was really spot on.
I really hope they are not spending any money on this.    Because it does nothing for the majority of high school students.

El Paso School District Rebuilds After Fraudulent Testing Practices By Administrators – Scott Everson Does This .. Evansville , Wis.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 3, 2012 by chasinthenews

Scott Everson has the practice of making ” low performing” students disappear.    He makes life hell for them at the high school until they/their parents pull them.

I know of seven kids who left last year during the school year and they were all low performing.  Low performing but they were all kids who tried.

The one kid  I will call him Billy Bob was getting c’s and d’s at Evansville .  He know goes to Stoughton and has been getting all B’s this year.   It is a matter of not just the students attitude but the teachers and administration.

One of the parents who pulled their kid from the high school made the comment ”  Scott Everson’s plan for improving test scores is getting rid of the kids who do not do well.”

It looks to be true.    Just look at the kids who have left.
