Ontario mom urges schools to let asthmatic kids carry puffers – Ottawa – CBC News

This is such a sad story because it was 100% preventable.  Evansville is not a lot better.  One can have a note from the Dr. stating how and when they are to use it, and the Gym teacher at J.C. Mckenna refuses to let the student go get their inhaler when they need it.

Just pure ignorance in Evansville schools.  The teachers and administration like to think they know better than everyone including the doctors.

Heidi Carvin. I Apologize.

Better the devil you know..

Be careful what you wish for..

When Jerry Roth took over as superintendent I was excited to think ~~Finally some one with new ideas.  Who will make positive changes.”~~     So far he has failed.

What he has managed to do is tie up his contract for the next year, before the teachers.

Turn teachers against administration.   Attempt to turn teachers against the board, put the board against the administration.   He has and is slowly trying to make it a hostile work environment and other.

He would like the teachers to believe its the boards fault the district is in the place its in.    It is not.

I will state again , as I have before the administrations contracts should not have been done before the teachers.   That they should not have done.   Not with the budget like it is.

Administration k~12 has failed to come to the board with any real plan for the budget.   Kind of the same crap they came to the board with last year at this time.

He is making Heidi Carvin look damn good as an administrator.

Please READ Melissa’s Hammann’s article’s in The Review.. Should Johnny turn in his home work?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 19, 2012 by chasinthenews

I had waited for this week’s paper to come out.   Keep in mind that the Review is not always some thing I buy, but I will buy it to read Melissa’s reports.

I have stated on here before and I will state again, she is the one to be reporting on the school and school board issues.  She understands the numbers and the in’s and out’s better than anyone else in town, not including current board members.( O.K. maybe she even understands it better than a couple of them.)

I am beginning to think she understands the budgets better than the administrators.

I would like to know WHY THE ADMINISTRATION is allowed to disrespect the school board members like they have and continue to do.

IF you follow Melissa’s reports , or have sat in on a meeting, or are familiar with administration , MOST people who hold a job and have dead lines to meet or get canned.   MOST of  us wonder why the school board has to ask NUMEROUS times for reports or SURVEYS about why people are leaving the district.

The board has asked many times for different reports from administration..  and NEVER gotten them.

HOW is it administration continues to  be allowed to not turn in what is really their assignment by the board?     SHOULD our students not turn in home work if they do not feel it is necessary?

The attitude shown by our administrators towards the school board is just plain DISRESPECTFUL.

Should our children treat teacher’s and administrators the way the administrators have treated members of the board?     IF kids treated them like they treated the board there would be a flood of detentions for disrespect.

WHY IS administration so afraid to talk about the budget of extra curricular and really if Scott Everson does not have any thing more intelligent to say than ” equal is not necessarily fair.” he should probably just sit there and be quite.

So the board is not allowed to ask simple questions with out a dodge and duck answer&  attitude from the administration.

READ Melissa’s article’s in this week’s REVIEW.       I will tell you the article on the budget is very informative. ..  nothing beats being there but Melissa’s article makes one feel as though they are, very informative.

Please also read the 2nd article on Co and extra curricular activities and contracts.

LONG Board Meeting on May 14 Was a Breath of Fresh Air — Melissa’s thoughts on May 14th’s board meeting.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on May 20, 2012 by chasinthenews

It sounds like it was a very interesting meeting.   I find it funny( when really it’s not) that part of the plan put together by administrator’s violates a teacher’ s contract.

I absolutely agree these administrators are not doing their job.    They have had months to put together a work able , lawful plan and this is what they come with?

If they are trying to make them selves look foolish , they have accomplished that.

I firmly believe they think they can stone wall , stall the school board.   That they think they(administration) think they are smarter than anyone else in the room.

Sorry they would be so wrong.

THEN there is the question of the continuing decline in enrollment.   LOOK directly at your administration they are a big part of the problem.   WE as tax payers are paying for their ignorance and arrogance.   FOR to long Heidi Carvin has let her administration do as they please , and it shows.

I had a nice long talk with Nancy Hurley this week.  She is such a nice lady and an excellent school board member.  She works very hard for our students in our district.

She also used to teach so she knows what should be flying in our schools and what should not.   IF you have a problem within the district I strongly urge you to call or email Nancy.

But the district is losing money, a lot of money do to declining enrollment and we as tax payers can not afford that.  Anyone who has a student in the district can not afford that.  It means cuts to classes and teacher’s and it’s clear the administration does not give a damn.    Evansville Schools are nothing like they used to be.    We need leaders in the district who will bring the school back to where it was a district people wanted their kids to go to, not leaving because they are sick of the b.s.

The surveys do not just send them to families who leave do to Open enrollment but send one to everyone who does not come back, or leaves mid year.    Because I have no doubt the numbers of kids leaving a year is closer to 100.   Parents who pull their kids from the district, but do not move but seek out other schools or home school..    The Open enrollment numbers are just the tip of the ice berg, the numbers are higher than that.    Look at the families who live here but their kids do not go to school here.    Declining enrollment is higher than just the Open enrollment numbers.

Take a few minutes and read Melissa’s article.    I want to personally thank her for covering the school board meetings.   I have said all along she knows her stuff.  She knows how the numbers work and she is the best one to report on them.. She is very good at separating the b.s.  from the real truth.
